Dance Festival for a Cause January 27-28, 2024

The purpose of the Festival is to give local dance students a special performing, learning, and networking experience while also raising funds to support children in our community who do not have access to dance opportunities. The broader goal is to bring people of different backgrounds together to grow our local community. See photos from our first festival last January.

Professional Groups, College Programs, and College Dance Teams 

  • There is no cost to be involved

  • Host a booth

  • Perform

  • Offer Scholarships 

 

Dance Studios and Student Groups 

  • Take Classes

  • Perform

  • Scholarships from professional groups and colleges for summer and weekend workshops will be awarded both days

Student participation fees cover 

​

Networking Fair

  • College dance departments

  • College dance teams

  • Professional dance companies 

  • Dancer health and rehabilitation resources

​

Adjudication Performance 

  • Positive feedback for students to grow as technicians and artists

  • Positive feedback for choreographers and teachers to guide and inspire 

  • Family and friends attending the professional theater performance no tickets needed

  • Digital program for mobile phones   

  • Professional videography with optional supportive adjudication notes by professionals 

  • An exceptional team bonding experience for dance groups

  • All proceeds from the event will go to support the Madison Contemporary Dance Outreach Program, which provides year-round training for local underserved children who have no access to arts training as well as outreach programs at community centers and dance events at neighborhood parks and community spaces 

  • Growth in character by using art to give back to the community

Age Categories for Adjudication and Master Classes 

Junior: 11 and under

Teen: 12-15

Senior: 16+

Professional: 19+ (graduated high school)

​

*If dancers should be with the older or younger group, depending on their level, email support@elev8.dance, and we will move them for you

​​

Master Classes will be offered on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. We will have 3 Junior and Teen classes and 3 Senior and Professional classes daily. The cost is $25 per class.
