Raised in Minnesota, Sara trained at numerous Twin Cities dance studios, including Zenon Dance Company, Ballet Arts, Stage Door Dance for Performing Arts, The FIRM, Dance Spectrum, and the Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts. She furthered her dance education as a member of the Augsburg College Dance Team, eventually serving as its captain for three years and later as its coach for four years.

Sara founded and directed the Ascending Star Dance Team for three years. She also instructed at Just for Kix summer camps while performing with the Swarm Performance Team in the Professional Lacrosse League. Upon relocating to Madison, Sara pursued coursework with the UW Madison Dance Department and danced with the Milwaukee Brewers Diamond Dancers for two seasons. Additionally, she was a member of the Madison area SweatShop Hip Hop Crew.

Sara completed Lisa Howell’s Teacher Training Workshop and has since guest-taught and choreographed for various professional dance companies, studios, high schools, colleges, and professional dance teams. Passionate about fostering learning environments, she completed a Love and Logic course and continues to explore and apply methods to support both children and adults in teaching.

Sara Rohs is the founder and artistic director of the nonprofit Madison Contemporary Dance (MCD), which aims to create community through accessible arts experiences. She also judges dance competitions across Wisconsin. Sara co-directs the Majestic Hip Hop Crew alongside Papa Kobina Brewoo.
