After-School Dance Programs 

About After-School Classes

 

Park Elementary Students will have the chance to study Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip-Hop/Street Styles and Tumbling! Students will meet for class in the school cafeteria, then will be walked to the front of the school for pick up or to KidSafe After School Program if enrolled in that. Students should bring a yoga mat they can leave at school. Wear comfortable clothing, long hair up, and have gym tennis shoes

Glacier Creek Middle School Students will have the chance to study Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Poms, Hip-Hop/Street Styles and Tumbling, with a focus on preparation for High School Dance Team. Students will meet in the calfateria for snack time then move to the gym for class. Students should wear comfortable clothing, long hair up, gym tennis shoes and skin tone jazz shoes. We have some jazz shoes dancers can borrow if needed. 

 

Your Instructor

Sara Rohs is the founder and artistic director of Madison Contemporary Dance (MCD), where she leads 18 dancers in creating and performing collaborative works for community and theater settings. In 2022, Sara received the Artist at Work grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for her dedication to arts access and leadership at MCD.


Sara’s experience includes two seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers' Diamond Dancers and Madison’s SweatShop Hip Hop Crew. She has guest-taught and choreographed for various studios, college and professional teams, and dance companies. Dedicated to positive learning, Sara integrates Love and Logic techniques into her teaching to support student growth.


Currently, Sara teaches at Synergy Dance Academy, judges dance competitions across Wisconsin and co-directs the Majestic Hip Hop Crew. In 2022, she launched the MCD Youth Program to offer young dancers opportunities to learn, create, and perform in their community. Sara has two boys who attend Glacier Creek Middle School in Cross Plains. ​

Monthly Tuition Information

$65 monthly tuition, you will choose start date when you sign up. Should your child need to discontinue classes before the end of the session/school year, please contact Sara at sara@mcvdance.com

If your child receives free or reduced lunch at school, please enter the Discount Code SUPPORT at registration to waive the tuition fees.

After School Program Events 2025-2026

 

Park Elementary and GCMS Program: Fall Dance Workshop and Professional Concert 

After-school dance students in grades 2-8 will participate in a Hip-Hop Dance Workshop with Papa Kobina Brewoo, followed by a viewing of a Professional Contemporary and Hip-Hop Dance Concert. There will be a brief Dance Party on stage after the show! Families may choose a date and time to attend. No cost for after-school students. Please send one adult with each child. Tickets are $20, and we have two concerts with no-cost options. Grades K-1 are also welcome to join us. Reach out to sara@mcvdance.com for questions about the event.
