Miye Bishop

Miye started her dancing in Japan under her dad, John Bishop, when she was 10 years old. Her family moved to the states when she was 11 and she continued her training at Northwest Ballet Theater in Washington. Miye attended summer intensives and workshops at American Ballet Theatre, St. Petersburg Russia’s Dance Open, Ballet Bellevue, International Ballet Academy, and Kirov Ballet Academy. After high school, she was a company member for Bellingham Repertory Dance and a guest artist for Ballet Bellevue, Skagit Valley Opera, and Seattle Opera. 

 

Miye has been teaching ballet and contemporary around the Pacific Northwest and in Wisconsin. She has been a faculty for Monona Dance Academy and a choreographer for Dance Wisconsin for the past three years. She also works with Central Midwest Ballet Academy, Transcendence Dance Company, and Madison Contemporary Dance Company.

 

Miye was certified in yoga this past year at Rishikesh Nath Yogshala and have started strengthening and restorative classes for dancers as well as for the emerald public. She has now been to Taiwan, Vietnam, and Utah to teach at yoga centers and festivals.
