Gisela Baldwin

Gisela Baldwin was a five year company member for Madison Contemporary Vision Dance. Raised in Racine, Wisconsin, she began her serious dance training at Dance Arts Center. Under the direction of Danelle Dalbesio, she studied ballet, tap, jazz, and lyrical and participated in competitions throughout the Midwest. She later continued her ballet training at The Studio of Classical Dance Arts, learning from former Milwaukee Ballet dancers Marc Darling and Linda Bennett.

 

Gisela continued her education at the University of Iowa, earning her BA in Dance as well as a Certificate in Performing Arts Entrepreneurship. Throughout her four years at Iowa, she trained in ballet and modern and had the privilege of studying under George de la Pena, Eloy Barragan, Deanna Carter, Jennifer Kayle, Alan Sener, Armando Duarte, and Charlotte Adams. While there, she also had the opportunity to perform in many concerts choreographed by undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty members. Gisela was also an intern for the University of Iowa Youth Ballet and School of Dance.


Gisela recently had the honor of judging the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s “Humorology” as the dance judge. She currently teaches dance at A Leap Above Dance and serves as its Dance Team Coordinator.
