Taylor Olson was a one-year member of Madison Contemporary Vision Dance Company. A native of La Crescent, MN, she trained at Misty’s Dance Unlimited in Onalaska, WI from age 3-18 in all styles of studio dance and taught classes of her own for the last 3 of those years. She trained in the summers at Inaside Dance Chicago’s Summer Intensives, and attended the Beginnings Workshop in New York where she performed an original duet in an off-broadway theater. Taylor was awarded a fellowship to attend the 2010 Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive in New York City where she trained in ballet, Horton and Caribbean. She was twice invited to perform as a principal dancer for the 2010 and 2011 Miss Wisconsin pageants where she choreographed and performed a solo to the live vocals of Miss America 2010, Caressa Cameron.
Upon graduating high school, she relocated to Madison to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison to pursue her undergraduate degree. While in school, she was a member of the Division I University of Wisconsin Dance Team for 3 years, performing at all Badger Football and Basketball games, including tournaments and Bowl Games, and placing Top Ten at the UDA Nationals all 3 years. She took one year off to study abroad in Seville, Spain where she also taught ballet and contemporary classes at La Sedede dance studio. In 2013, Taylor was cast as a guest performer in Kate Jablonski’s company The Kate Jablonski Statement, performing a lead role in an original production Judgement. Taylor graduated college in 2016 with degrees in Biology and Spanish and certificates in both Global Health and European Studies.
