Kyra Johnson started dancing at the age of 10, however, her mother would say moving started in the womb. She began her training at the studio formerly known as, Donna Davis School of Dance, in Sun Prairie. She later continued at Dancing Through Life in Sun Prairie. After 12 years of dancing, Ms. Johnson continues her advancement in dance as a student at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point (UWSP) studying dance and psychology. She has foundation in styles of modern, jazz, and ballet. While attending UWSP, she has created a work titled, “How Come…?” for the student lead production of Afterimages (2018). Ms. Johnson has also worked with artist such as, Jeannie Hill and Pamela Luedtke, in their works for the production of Danstage (2019).When she is not studying, she overseas an organization by the name of This Is for Us (TIFU) Cultural Ensemble as the President and Dance Coordinator. After her time at UWSP comes to an end in the fall of 2019 she plans to attend graduate school for a Masters in couples and family counseling. In the meantime, Ms. Johnson continues to dance near her hometown. This is her second year with the Madison Contemporary Vision Dance Company and she is beyond excited to grow and move with genuine people.
