Kacy grew up dancing in Madison, Wisconsin at the age of 3. She began her training at West Side Performing Arts and finished at Studio One Dance School. She learned many styles of dance and was also a member of the competition teams which attended conventions all over the nation.
After graduating high school, she went to college at the University of Minnesota where she completed her bachelor’s degree in business management. Her sophomore year she joined the Premier Dance Team which competed locally in Minnesota. During this time she also furthered her dance education by attending summer ballet intensives at Milwaukee Ballet and the Joffrey Ballet in New York City. She moved to New York City at 20 years old to pursue a performance career. She was accepted into the Broadway Dance Center’s Internship Program where she continued training under professional choreographers and began auditioning. She booked her first professional dance performance position on Holland America Cruise Lines in 2010 where she was able to perform shows while traveling the world. She proceeded to dance professionally at casinos, for music artists, dinner theaters, and theme parks for the next 8 years. While based in New York, she also taught jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, and hip hop at a studio in New Jersey. She also was an assistant and substitute teacher for Heather Rigg at Broadway Dance Center. Since moving back to Madison, Kacy is excited to continue dancing and performing with MCVD.
