Faith Rae

Faith Rae is an artist, journalist and teacher in the Milwaukee and Madison area. As a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in May of 2022, Faith double majored in dance and journalism. She now works as a full-time reporter for a newspaper in Waukesha and dances as a part-time company member for both the Gina Laurenzi Dance Project and Madison Contemporary Dance for her second season.

Faith has previous experience as a teacher of movement. She taught dance for 5 years and Pilates for one year. She performed in multiple shows during her time in the UWM Department of Dance and choreographed a piece entitled “Shattered Reflection” for her senior project. Faith also took part in SURF, Support for Undergraduate Research Fellows, conducting research with Professor Daniel Burkholder about visceral technologies and dancing in 360 degrees during her time at UWM.

​Along with her teaching experience, she has trained in a wide variety of styles including modern, contemporary, pointe, ballet, hip hop, jazz, African diaspora, Iyengar Yoga and Pilates. While at UWM, she performed in over eight shows choreographed by faculty and guest artists Gina Laurenzi, Emma Draves, DeMar Walker, Maria Gillespie and Marina Magalhães.
