Courtney Paulsen

Courtney started dancing in Lakeville, MN at DanceWorks for ballet training under the direction of Denise Vogt. She followed Denise through to Ballet Royale Minnesota to continue to train under her until high school graduation. In that time period, Courtney also participated in Kansas City Ballet’s Summer Intensive program. Upon high school graduation, Courtney when to The University of Iowa to gain her degree in dance and industrial engineering. At the University of Iowa, Courtney performed in over 12 different pieces during her studies at Iowa, two of which were in the University of Iowa’s Dance Gala performance. Courtney also performed at the ACDFA conference. She also created three different pieces of choreography, collaborating with various artists in and outside of the dance community including composer Jason Palamara. After graduating, Courtney showcased a piece in New York at Aries in Flight’s choreographers showcase. This is Courtney’s second year of dancing in Madison Contemporary Dance Company, and first year producing choreography for the company.
