
Alex Trofka

Alex Trofka began dancing at the age of five training at Richard’s School of the Dance in Oshkosh WI. He continued his dance education at the UW-Stevens Point where he graduated this year. Alex has trained in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, contemporary, hip hop, aerial silks, and Irish dancing. While at UWSP, Alex has had the opportunity to work with choreographers Michael Estanich, Pamela Luedtke, and Joan Karlen. Last year, Alex had the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Limerick in Ireland. There, he explored different styles of dance like aerial silks and Irish dancing and performed a piece choreographed by Ursula Robb.
Alex is also involved at UWSP by being on the directing team for Afterimages and Afterimages Unplugged, a student led choreographed production. In addition to being on the directing team, he also performs and choreographs for the production.
Alex is looking forward to dancing with Madison Contemporary Dance this season and hopes to continue pursuing dance after he graduates college.
